Marksmanship is not only a key part of the Marine Corps JROTC curriculum, but also a team sport in JROTC at Monty Tech. Monty Tech’s MCJROTC offers cadets a safe learning environment for marksmanship practice and competition. Cadets will learn to become proficient in marksmanship skills with the Crossman Challenge P.C.P. Rifle designed specifically for MCJROTC. Cadets qualify and compete using the Three-Position Air Rifle Shooting Standards. Competitors fire at targets at a distance of 10 meters in three different positions - prone, standing, and kneeling. Marine Corps JROTC units participate in competitions sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).
Marksmanship is open to all cadets enrolled in the MCJROTC program within Monty Tech. Cadets are held to a high academic and moral standard and are expected to attend weekly meetings. Monty Tech’s MCJROTC program offers cadets the opportunity to hone their marksmanship skills and become apart of a working team. Cadets interested in joining the Marksmanship Team should contact Cadet Major Lore or listen for Marksmanship announcements during formation.
We meet on Thursdays, from 2:45 - 6:00pm in Room #520.
